I currently serve as a System Engineer at Amazon, where my passion for automation and system enhancements has been a driving force throughout my career, even during my tenure as a software engineer.
I'm a fervent advocate of open-source technologies, with a particular fondness for Linux, Docker, and Python. Lately, I've embarked on a journey of exploration with the Rust programming language, actively engaging in self-improvement through a collection of tutorials on my GitHub repository . My cloud expertise predominantly centers around AWS, although I've recently expanded my horizons by delving into Azure.
Upon joining Amazon, I took the initiative to extend my technical prowess beyond the workplace. I harnessed my home Raspberry Pi to create a robust monitoring dashboard for our team. This real-time dashboard ensures that we collectively respond to high-severity alerts promptly, exemplifying my dedication to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
In the realm of my professional pursuits, I derive immense satisfaction from resolving complex technical challenges and aiding fellow colleagues. This role not only allows me to share my knowledge but also presents an invaluable opportunity to learn from others. Collaborative problem-solving transcends professional growth; it's a foundation upon which lasting friendships are forged.
My career has furnished me with extensive experience, enabling me to tackle urgent issues, oversee monitoring systems, and facilitate efficient change management processes. My commitment to maintaining uninterrupted system operations and reducing Time to Mitigate remains unwavering. Working with global and distributed teams has instilled in me the importance of embracing best practices, exemplified by the "Follow the Sun" model.
Outside the realm of technology, I find solace in simple pleasures. A steaming cup of coffee is a constant companion, and I cherish moments at the beach, even during Seattle's rainy days. There's something undeniably peaceful about the water's embrace.
As for leisure, I'm an avid consumer of Netflix series and movies. Some of my favorites include timeless classics like "The Three Stooges" alongside contemporary gems like "Breaking Bad," "Better Call Saul," and "The Queen's Gambit."
In the tech world, I deeply admire visionaries such as Linus Torvalds, Guido van Rossum (Father of Python), Robert Love ( Linux guy) , Graydon Hoare (the farther of Rust language), Solomon Hykes (Docker), and the authors of the seminal "Gang of Four" design patterns book, Erich Gamma, John Vlissides, Richard Helm, and Ralph Johnson, for their invaluable contributions to the field.
